Find A Walk Near Me by Walking Britain is a truly excellent and free resource. Just enter where you are or where you would like to walk - and print out directions. The walks are graded and you can buy a specific map of the area at the same time. These are proper OS maps and weather proofed if required.

I always think of walking as one of the few activities you can do for free - and now you can with this guide!

Walking, Hiking and Outdoor Shops

The Range, Penzance

Long Rock Bypass, Penzance TR20 8JQ, UK – 01736 360997

good choice of goods reasonable prices. wished there were more staff on the shop floor, but thise present very helpful.

The staff are great but Tracey and Emma up stairs were very helpful helping me and my mum.

Topps Tiles Penzance

Chy An Mor, Penzance TR20 8HT, UK – 01736 367881

The difficult job was selecting the right tiles as there is so much choice. We ended up buying the tiles for our kitchen when we only went in to get some for our bathroom, lots of great advice, the staff couldn't have been more helpful.

B&M Home Store with Garden Centre

Longrock Bypass, Longrock, Cornwall TR18 3AR, UK – 0330 838 9589

Pile it high and sell it cheap. You can't guarantee what they will have. You need to check the quality of items you are buying, my advice is that you should stick to branded itesm. You need to watch the qusiky of many items. Free parking and easy to get to with a car. It is what it is.

Great bargains to chose from a wide variety of goods, only dropped one star from my review because I make regular visits but the customer service does not get any better.

WalkingWorld.jpg
Another good one. Walkingworld has huge library of guides with a good selection of walks, of varying lengths and grades, pretty well anywhere in the UK. The walks come in an excellent format making them very easy to follow, with photographs to illustrate every important decision point and a proper Ordnance Survey map.

A modist annual subscription gives you unlimited access to all the walks. However you can Pay As Go by downloading indiviual walks.

Crucially you can also find walks France, Spain, Norway, Portugal and Australia!

Camping and Caravaning

Ash Farm Campsite

Ash Farm Campsite, Ludgvan, Penzance TR20 8HF, UK – 01736 740181

Such a lovely campsite which brings you one step closer to nature than your usual campsite. A warm powerful outside shower which has been the best shower I’ve had on this whole UK trip, beautiful animals and lovely accommodating owners. Sadly we only stayed the one night, but I would love to come back and will definitely recommend to all my travelling friends!

Great campsite. Victoria is very friendly and super welcoming. The campsite has room for only a few pitches so I recommend calling and booking. There is a pub just 5 minutes walk and I was able to go cycling all around the coast from here without going on a main road.

Ponsandane Campsite

Vellanhoggan Cottage Vellanhoggan, Gulval, Penzance TR18 3DN, UK – 01736 351777

We are looking forward to camping again in August it poured with rain last year and was our first visit to this campsite . we couldn’t have been made more welcome .Great to have firewood provided and be able to Cook and sit around an open fire . All that camping should be about . Tesco’s nearby and a short walk into Penzance to the pub if you like that sort of thing! A great place for us friends to hang out and explore the diving from Penzance

We loved our stay at the Ponsandane campsite! It it nicely situated near the sea, on walking distance (along the sea) from Penzance and just a very short walk away from Tesco. The site looks nice and green as it is surrounded by trees. The walk to Marazion and St Michaels Mount is also lovely for the more enthusiastic walkers amongst us. The camp owner Roger manages the campsite very well. He made us feel very welcome and is always there if you need something.

Golden Gate Farm

Ludgvan, Saint Ives TR20 8BG, UK – 07496 352997

Lovely no frills campsite, with amazing views. Our kids love coming here every year. The owners are very lovely and helpful.

I get homesick leaving this place. Lovely people... Sometimes the "overly-shiny-shiny" caravan brigade get a bit negative about the facilities for tent campers (normally after using them and stealing the toilet rolls, when they have their own). It isn't particularly easy to find, and that is partially the delight, because it is so quiet. It is off the beaten track, and the views across St Michaels Mount, Marazion, Penzance to the Lizard (Goonhilly on a clear day) are just mesmerising... It's not often I find a campsite where I just want to stay put and take in the views (and *secret tip* the stars at night are awesome because the night sky isn't light polluted - naked-eye Milky Way stuff... bring binoculars or telescope - it's worth it).

Dog People is such a great website if you have dogs who go on holiday with you. Just enter your location and everything from dog friendly Bed and Breakfasts and Hotels to dog friendly walks and beaches come up. The Dog People site covers Bed & Breakfast, Holiday Parks, Hotels, Self Catering, Pubs & Food, Days Out. Enjoy!
'Walks with Buggies' is a must for walking parents with young children, babies or even grannies and grandpas! If you would like to walk around Trescowe or Cornwall just select your nearest town, length of walk and type of walk. You will not only be able to download detailed OS maps free of charge but you can read reviews of walks and their ratings - and add your own afterwards! Enjoy
